Is Nutrition Coaching for You?

Whether it’s the same 5 to 10 pounds that you are constantly losing and gaining back, or it’s a bigger number that you haven’t seemed to be able to tackle; a habits-based approach to getting to a maintainable and healthy weight is for you.

Why? Because it’s the long-term lifestyle that we lead every day that matters, not the short-term changes that we try to affect. Only introducing a different way of living, through incremental but meaningful changes, can do that. Successful daily living is living your goal. It’s a reverse in thinking. Not striving to meet a goal but rather living like you already have seen that goal to fruition.

So, the question then becomes, what are you ready, willing, and able to change right now? Then, and most importantly, are you able to continue living that change every day?

That answer is different for everyone. That is what makes nutrition coaching specialized to you, not a cookie-cutter program with food rules and blanket expectations. This is the initial question that we explore together to set you up for success.

The main habits to change aren’t many, and they aren’t complicated. Keep it simple and begin with the ones that make the most meaningful impact. There are only 4 types of food: proteins, starch carbs, non-starch carbs, and fats. Addressing them in order of importance, improving quality of intake, and matching your energy with what you want to create as an outcome is the basic work. Simple in theory, but often elusive to the individual because of lack of planning and skill in execution. It’s a process of learning, and that is what nutrition coaching is. It’s also what creating long-term, meaningful change entails.

As a nutrition coach, I work with clients by calculating what their above needs are to create an outcome. This outcome is at the end of a 12-week period. I offer a suggested amount of the above to use as a guideline, but during that 12-week period, together, we address each of those types of foods individually. A deep dive to polish the habit of getting the daily amount of what is needed to create that goal by living that habit. This approach has far more success than a diet or being given meal plans because it doesn’t end. You continue to live as if you have reached your goal. That is why diets fail. The actions that you must take to achieve a goal must be continued to stay there. The only way to accomplish this is by sustained lifestyle change.

This is a process of learning, so as such, you are provided with educational materials and activities to create the needed changes. I am available daily to my clients to guide choices until sufficient learning and exploration is reached to be able to do this on one’s own. The client and I meet in person each time there is an addition to routine, to go over the materials and to set a timeline and expectations. These are decided by the client, using the criteria of readiness, willingness, and ability.

During this 12-week process, you, the client, learn how to meal plan for yourself, how to fit weekly meal prepping into your schedule, how to identify types of foods and quantities in dishes, how to portion for your individual goals and needs. An education and acquisition of skills will keep you moving forward because the power is put into your hands. When you have the knowledge base and the habits built into your lifestyle, you are no longer chasing a goal. You are living your goal.

Daily support as needed, in-person meetings to receive and go over materials, concrete guidance and support over a 12-week period is available to you for a cost of $594 plus GST.

This can be arranged by sending me your request and contact information through any of the several contact buttons on the website. Visualize the end of the struggle; the beginning of living your goals is only a click away!
